DIY: PRESSED FLOWER EASTER EGGS

Easter is the perfect time to get creative with colorful crafts and fun traditions, and one of the most charming ways to celebrate is by decorating hard boiled farm fresh eggs. This year, why not take your egg-decorating game to the next level by incorporating the delicate beauty of pressed flowers? They are especially gorgeous on colored farm fresh eggs. We used pressed flowers from our pasture (pressed a few days prior in a large book), naturally colored rainbow chicken eggs as well as a couple of goose eggs for this diy. Using real, pressed flowers to decorate your Easter eggs will add a sweet, natural, timeless touch to your festivities this year!

MATERIALS

  • Hard Boiled, Farm Fresh Rainbow Eggs (any eggs will do, natural or artificially dyed)
  • Modge Podge
  • Paint Brush
  • Pressed Flowers

INSTRUCTION

  1. Hard boil your eggs and allow them to dry. If you are artificially dying your eggs make sure to allow the coloring to completely dry before moving to the next step.
  2. Coat egg with a layer of Modge Podge using a paint brush. This step insures the pressed flowers will adhere to the egg.
  3. While the adhesive is still tacky, create your design(s) by smoothing the pressed flowers on the egg.
  4. Allow egg and pressed flowers to dry completely.
  5. Add one more coat of Modge Podge to the egg covering all the pressed flowers to seal your creation.

Disclaimer: Although Modge Podge is “non-toxic” it is not food grade and it is not recommended that eggs used in this diy should be consumed.
